Living vs. Non-Living

We began our study on living vs non-living things yesterday.  Christopher was given an option of looking through magazines for living vs non-living things or to plant flowers.  He decided a good follow up activity would be for us to plant flower seeds.  So we planted two types of seeds, sunflowers and zinnias.

I have noticed Christopher enjoys the hands on activities that accompany our studies.  He is always eager to jump right in.  Here he is busy with the potting soil.

For experiment purposes we left two plants outside in the front yard and two plants inside .  This way we can discuss the difference between plants that are exposed to a lot of sunshine and plants that get very little sunshine.  I am hoping our our little seeds sprout.

Before dad left this morning for work we asked him to take a peek at our experiment.
